I am a licensed clinical social worker specializing in individual, couples, teens and family therapy using narrative therapy and other approaches, and I maintain a private practice in Rochester, NY.
I was first introduced to narrative therapy here in Rochester, and I was ‘hooked’ from the start! Its basic beliefs drew me in--how people consulting with counselors play a big part in the direction of therapy. Another different way of thinking that attracted me to this approach is that Problems are are not viewed as residing within the person but outside the person. Narrative therapists also believe that people have many skills, abilities, values, intentions, commitments and hopes--numerous resources to reduce the influence of problems in their lives and move in a preferred direction for themselves!
It is a privilege to witness people’s stories on their journey to feeling better and to find out more about initiatives people take against the problems they face.
